HIGH SCHOOL AROMA
Sunday Evenings
7:00-8:30 PM
This is a time focused for any student to come and discover what following
Jesus Christ is like. There will be challenging teachings from God’s Word, music
for students to participate in worship, and time for students to connect with
each other. There will be frequent use of media, unique games, and dramatic
contests which will add to the upbeat atmosphere. This upbeat atmosphere will
help soften followers of Christ when they don’t look like or reflect who they
claim to be following: Christ. What they are about, or their aroma, is no
different than those who do not follow Christ. A true follower of Christ
pleases
God with how they talk and act. While they please God, people take this
differently. Some people hate it for Christ, the truth, offends them. Other
people are set free for they understand that Christ gives them hope, salvation,
and abundant life. This night will help challenge and offer practical examples
of how to be a communicator of truth: the pleasing aroma.
QUIZ
Sunday Evenings
Parsonage
5:30-6:30 AM
The purpose of quizzing is to instill the knowledge
and desire to know the
Word of God. The Bible
is an incredible compass for people to use to stay
focused
on what True North is. Without
knowledge of it, we
often get lost. By
memorizing scripture, practicing with
other believers,
coaching by passionate
teachers, and quizzing
against other students a true knowledge and
desire for
Scripture will be established. Three
main quiz-offs are held each year:
in
November at Miracle Camp, in March at
Brookside
Community Church, and in August
at Northwoods Community Church.
Quiz-off
Dates:
Saturday, November 22 at AEMC
HIGH
SCHOOL SMALL GROUPS
Wednesday Evenings In
Homes
Some groups meet weekly, bi-weekly,
and some groups are co-ed.
These
small groups meet in an environment
where students
can be connected to other
students and build a sense of
community within
the students ministry. The goal in these
groups
is to nurture each student's relationship with
God
by knowing, caring, holding each other accountable
and encouraging each other spiritually.

HIGH
SCHOOL UNVEILED
Watch for meeting times!
This is a time for
students to come and take down their masks which they hide behind and be real
with others. This is a time for students to have true intimacy with other
believers in Jesus Christ. There will be discussions on significant topics,
opportunities for students to share about their lives, and teachings which will
push students to think about their own faith. An overarching goal and emphasis
for this time will be on community building and true fellowship, where followers
of Christ sharpen each other and encourage each other. The hard part is to drop
our own masks or veils which we hide behind and be real, authentic, and genuine.
People often put veils up to hide who they really are but the truth is that who
we are in Christ is not something to be veiled. We are to unveil who we are with
no fear of discovery. The Holy Spirit is working in us and we need to trust Him.
