  Our Ministry

ABBA Ministry =
Archbold (EMC) Building
Bridges for Adoption

Mission:
Our mission is to answer the cry of our Abba father
God to seek justice for the orphans here
and abroad. We will strive to help the church
fulfill its call to the orphan. We will
accomplish this mission in three ways.
- To be an advocate for the orphan.
- To raise awareness of the adoption process.
- To assist families who feel called to adopt.

Biblical Basis:
God calls us to care for the orphans
as shown in the following verses.

James 1:27 - Religion that God our Father accepts as
pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans

Deuteronomy 10:18a - He executes
justice for the orphan

Psalm 68:5-6a - A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the
lonely in families.

Psalm 41:1 - How blessed is he who considers the helpless.

Isaiah 1:17 - Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the orphan

Goals:
We want to inspire people to care for the orphan, through physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial support. We also want to inform people of the Biblical mandate to care for the orphan, as well as educate them on the adoption process. We will strive to do this by using the three A's: Advocacy, Awareness, and Assistance.

Advocacy/Awareness
- The plight of orphans here and aboard
- Pro Life Movement
- Work with Respect for Life Committee
- National Adoption Sunday
- Recommended Adoption Agency List
- Financing/ Grant/ Loan Resources compilation
- Partnerships with local agencies to promote
foster care and domestic adoption.
- Partnerships with international organizations to
promote orphan care.
- Vision/Work teams trip to orphanages

Assistance
Spiritual:
- Committed prayer from the
AEMC Adoption Committee
- Baby/Child Dedication upon Placement

Emotional:
- Paired with an adoption mentoring family to
meet once a month.
- Committee to serve as a resource
